The Director - Business Analysis is responsible for both strategic and tactical analysis in support of a $200 million revenue stream SHC receives for credit and financial products offered through strategic partners. Provide analytical support to several functions within SHC, Citi, Barclays, and WNLI including marketing, in-store execution, marketing services, credit policy, and new product development. Works with Sears and Kmart Retail Marketing and merchant groups to jointly develop consistent and meaningful measures of credit programs offered to Sears cardholders. Identifies strategic opportunities to increase credit and retail sales. Oversees execution of data extraction requests and issues affecting availability and accuracy of key analytic information. Supervises a team of Analysts and manages a portfolio of high impact projects end to end - design to development to rollout. Fully accountable for the outcome of analytics improvements implemented and committed to have significant impact on Financial Services and Retail financial performance of SHC.


• Leads a team of highly technical analysts and managers
• Mentors team members in their career development. Guides direct reports in areas such as technical skills development; advanced mathematics; project management.
• Develops analytical discipline around promotional testing, including test design, test and control selection, and financial analysis to ensure accurate interpretation of test results, and recommendations for implementation of new offers to card members.
• Identifies strategic opportunities to increase credit and retail sales, leveraging analysis of customer behavior and trends. Utilizes geographic or other segmentation models to support strategy development. Analyzes and propose solutions and initiatives.
• Works closely with Financial Services functional areas to ensure strategies and tactics are aligned, and focused on opportunities to drive credit activation and usage.
• Supports new product development in evaluating products ranging from new credit card products, Leasing, and Alternative Financial Products (Check Cashing, Bill Pay, etc)
• Ensures availability and accuracy of data used for purposes of ad-hoc analysis and reporting
• Keeps abreast of analytics ‘best practices’ from a wide range of industries

MS or MA in Mathematics, Statistics, economics or other related fields with emphasis in quantitative methods. PHD or Masters is a Plus.
